Cake smash sessions are a fun and memorable way to celebrate your little one's birthday or milestone.
Held at my Harlow studio, these sessions are relaxed, playful and completely child-led. Some little ones dive straight into their cake while others prefer to explore at their own pace. Either way, we capture plenty of genuine smiles, expressions and personality.
Every cake smash session finishes with splash time in the tub, creating even more fun memories and photographs to treasure.

Every child reacts differently to their cake smash. Some dive straight in, some take their time, and some are far more interested in the bubbles and splash bath afterwards. Every reaction is perfect and makes for wonderful photographs.

What to expect
Step 1 – Cute Shots
We begin with classic “clean” portraits of your little one. Siblings or parents can join in at this stage.
Step 2 – Cake Smash
Your child explores, tastes, and smashes their cake while I capture every adorable expression.
Step 3 – Splash Time
Into the mini bath they go! With bubbles and toys, we’ll capture giggles and splashes as they have fun in the water.
Step 4 – The Reveal
You’ll receive your private online gallery with every image ready to download.

Most cake smash sessions take place around your child’s first birthday, but they can be booked for any milestone birthday. You do not have to be a child to have a cake smash either! I have had 10 year and even 40 year olds.

Yes. The cake is not included, which means you’re free to choose a cake that suits your child’s tastes, dietary requirements and theme.

That’s completely normal. Every child reacts differently. Some dive straight in while others prefer to explore slowly. We capture their personality and reactions, whatever they may be.

Yes. Siblings can join in for the clean portrait section at the beginning of the session.
If you are happy for them to get messy I always encourage them joining in near the end of the cake smashing .
Even at the splash part siblings can help splash the water, create bubbles, use the bubble gun and play after getting the main shots. -
Yes. A selection of props, outfits and accessories are available to use during your session.

A swim nappy is provided, but you’re welcome to bring any additional swimwear or towels if you’d prefer.
