Cake smash photography sessions are a fun and colourful way to celebrate your child’s first birthday or milestone birthday.

These sessions take place in the Hibbard Photography studio in Harlow and are designed to be relaxed, playful, and completely child focused. Every baby reacts differently to their cake smash. Some dive straight in with excitement while others explore slowly and carefully. Both create wonderful moments that parents love to look back on.

Why Parents love it

A colourful themed setup is prepared to match the joyful nature of the celebration while still keeping the focus on your child. After the cake smash portion, many families enjoy a splash bath session which helps with the clean up and often produces some of the most adorable photographs from the session.

Cake smash sessions are about celebrating personality, curiosity, and the joy of your child reaching an important milestone.

What to expect

Step 1 – Cute Shots
We begin with classic “clean” portraits of your little one. Siblings or parents can join in at this stage.

Step 2 – Cake Smash
Your child explores, tastes, and smashes their cake while I capture every adorable expression.

Step 3 – Splash Time
Into the mini bath they go! With bubbles and toys, we’ll capture giggles and splashes as they have fun in the water.

Step 4 – The Reveal
You’ll receive your private online gallery with every image ready to download.
