Do you instruct for posing? I’m kind of awkward/unphotogenic

Most of us aren’t models, so it’s no surprise that the vast majority of people tell us when we first meet that they’re awkward on camera or they never look good in photos. These are the same people that you now see filling the galleries on our website and more. The piece of feedback I’ve probably received most over the years is that we were able to put everyone at ease and make them feel comfortable. Part of this is through a flexible, no stress and sometimes silly approach to direction. Yes we absolutely provide direction wherever needed, but that doesn’t mean your photos are going to feel stiff or posed; Sometimes giving great direction means letting you know where to go, getting you to do something silly and capturing a REAL moment of laughter amidst the pre visualised composition we came up with. One of the most important and underrated aspects of photography is choosing a photographer who you feel personally comfortable with; someone that you would actually want to invite to the biggest party you will ever plan or pose in front of and hopefully someone who makes you laugh.

Do you work with a second photographer?

We do have another photographer at the ready if your looking for two photographers and a videographer. Or if you would like us to work with another preferred photographer/videographer we are happy to accommodate.
We have worked with many other photographers and videographers and for your piece of mind we usually meet with them before the event to create a plan, See how each photographer likes to work so that everything goes seamlessly on the day.

Are you able to shoot at night or dark situations?

Of course, we have the right equipment to hand so that we can capture the best possible photos.

How long have you been doing this?

L.Hibbard Photography started in October 2018 by myself Louise and i have over 10 years experience working on all types of photography.

I wanted to start a photography business that is not like most, one that provides the best experience possible giving you the choices that many do not have.

When i had my little boy back in 2015 i decided to have a newborn shoot in a professional studio which as you can guess i was so shocked by the price of just a few images of my new bundle of joy! Not everyone can afford the ridiculously hiked up prices.
This started off my first thought of becoming a full time photographer covering all types of shoots instead of part time, providing one of the cheapest prices around that includes every single image taken and edited and still have the quality of service, choice and comfort just with more for your money!.

Do I own the copyright to my photos once you deliver them to me?

As the content creator, under copyright law we are the copyright owner of the images. However, you have the freedom to share, print, scrapbook, and use your images for personal use however you see fit. We do not watermark your set of images and you’re free to print them.

What you can’t do is provide them to any sort of commercial entity for commercial use, unless otherwise agreed.

Will my photos show up on your website?

As a photographer it’s important for me to be able to show my existing body of work to attract new clients and illustrate what I can do! Typically, you can expect to see highlights from our shoots with you to show up on my website, portfolio and social media. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances like for undercover police officers or people in witness protection programs that cannot have any images of them online, and of course I don’t want to get anyone hurt and will absolutely respect that.

Have you worked with videographers?

Yes and I would love to provide you with a recommendation! We always communicate clearly and positively to ensure we can both capture the imagery that we have promised for you. Sometimes having a video team there will mean they show up in some of your images, that’s unavoidable, but the best videographers know how to work together with photographers as a team to ensure the client receives the best possible experience, images and video.

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes, my regular set up is with 2 cameras and a variety of lenses I also own additional backup cameras and lenses.

What is your backup policy for photos?

Once images are brought back to my studio, they are downloaded to my computer, immediately backed up to my on site backup hard drive, and then backed up onto an off site NAS which is then synced to multiple servers in the UK, France and US which only select employees have access to.

Im not sure my child will like a photo session HELP!?!

Every child is different and coming into a strange new place might be a little overwhelming for them which is why we make sure that before every session there is a one on one play time with us and your children in the show room, just sit back and relax next to us whilst we have lots of fun with toys and activities. Once your child is more settled we will then enter the studio and continue playing so they can adjust to their surroundings. We will then introduce the lighting, some children are fine with the flash going off and us holding the camera and we can proceed with capturing your precious memories whilst having fun!. Of course if they are not we introduce them to the camera letting their curiosity touch the camera buttons (we have back up camera's so please don't worry!!), This is where we will set off the flash, at this point they may be surprised and we encourage this by praising them for turning the lights on! we will then progress to being in front of the lights where a few shots will be taken and shown to your child and progress to capturing your beautiful memories whilst having fun!.

Do you offer printing and products?

Yes we do! We are happy to show you some of our prints, keyrings. magnets and much more either before your session or when you have had your session.

Can i visit the studio before booking?

Of course you can, you are more than welcome to pop by even if its to be nosey! please contact us to schedual a time so we are not in a photo session when you do arrive were happy to make you a nice cup of tea, coffee or juice and you can sit and relax in our show room. Feel free to ask us any questions you have and a walk around our Studio premises.

What do you charge for travel?

We aim to make bringing us to wherever you’re going as accessible as possible. I get every single image you have taken of my big day?... this sounds to good to be true !

Yes you are seeing right! every single image is provided, we do not believe in holding a certain amount of your photos at ransom!. they are your memories you should have every single detail to cherish! that is why they are ALL included.

As an example if you book for 1 hour and i take 200 photos you will receive all 200 fully edited in colour and then an additional 200 copies of those same images in black and white so 400 images!.

Are you insured?

Yes, We are fully insured with both equipment insurance and liability insurance

Do I need to provide dinner?

This is completely up to you!, Most couples provide a dinner for their vendors and sometimes wedding venues include meals for vendors in their packages and sometimes its automatically inlcuded( you just need to ask your venue).

If a meal is not provided:
We would venture out to recharge and refuel and be back at an agreed time with yourself.

If a meal is provided:
We are typically seated away from guests. Some times we are seated at a table with guests ( we don't mind filling out the randoms table of guests that don’t fit in to any particular group ;). Vendor tables are fine as well,
Where possible, it’s best if we can eat at the same time as you and your partner, that way when you’re eating, we are doing the same and not taking photos of you chewing, and when you’re done and mingling and chatting with guests we will also have finished our dinner and able to get candid moments of you together with your guests.

Can i include my pets?

Of course! they are part of the family too! We will try our best to get your companion looking our way and some candid shots too.

When shooting outdoors please be aware of your pets and children's safety in the surroundings whilst we are shooting.

Are you able to shoot at night or dark situations?

Of course, we have the right equipment to hand so that we can capture the best possible photos.

Some couples book as far as 2 years in advance to ensure they get the photographer and vendors they really want for their wedding as we sometimes receive as many as 5 inquiries for a single date. Generally speaking, most couples book 9-15 months in advance, and the further ahead you book the more likely we will be available for your date. If your date isn’t yet set, feel free to drop us a message and find out which days I’m still available before booking your venue!

Will you block my guests’ view on the wedding day?

We do our utmost at every wedding to be a photo-ninja and create as little disruption and distraction as possible for your guests. We are never in the same spot for very long, which allows us to provide a wide variety of angles and perspectives, and ensures that even if We happen to block a guest’s view for 20 seconds, We will not block or impede their experience for any extended period of time. We always check in with couples to find out their preferences and priorities; Some couples want me us to be an invisible fly on the wall, and some want us to get as close as possible for important moments. It’s up to you!

Do you take any breaks on the wedding day?

The only break we take on the wedding day is a short dinner break, This gives us a chance to refuel and recharge for the rest of the reception and of course we may need to pop to the ladies!.

Have you worked with videographers?

Yes and I would love to provide you with a recommendation! We always communicate clearly and positively to ensure we can both capture the imagery that we have promised for you. Yes, my regular set up is with 2 cameras and a variety of lenses I also own additional backup cameras and lenses.

What if the wedding runs late, can I ask you to stay late?

Yes absolutely, we don’t schedule any other shoots on wedding days and if you need us to stay for some extra time we are happy to do so at the additionally hourly rate.

Can you shoot in rain or bad weather?

Yes we can, in fact some of the wedding images you see on our website of outside it is actually raining! One good piece of advice would be bringing a white umbrella or a pretty lace one.

My wedding day is scheduled to have  bad weather HELP!?

While we have shot in every type of weather out there, Obviously this isn’t an option with wedding days so please do not worry!. We will help you develop a game plan to make the most of your rainy wedding day should it happen. We know first hand how unpredictable weather can be, so it’s always good to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. This means ensuring you’ve got a tent(s) available if you’re having an outdoor reception, and can mean sending a friend to the shops to pick up umbrellas on the wedding day. We’ll figure it out!

What do you wear to a wedding?

Our aim at every wedding is to blend in. We check in with every couple to see how formal their wedding attire expectation is and make sure to match that while still wearing practical enough clothing that it doesn’t impede me from doing my job.

Do you shoot formal and family photos too?

Definitely. While these don’t tend to be the most creative or unique images that typically fill a wedding portfolio, they’re a central and important part of a wedding day and we make sure to photograph every grouping that is important to you. For some couples this means a half dozen groupings, for others it could mean 50, whatever the number is for you we will be sure to accommodate that when we schedule your day together.

Am I allowed to put my photos online?

Of course! We know as well as anyone that the main way people like to share their images these days is online ( But you should 100% get some physical prints made!!! ). We only ask that anywhere that you share our images that you would credit or tag us or our website to provide credit for the artwork we created.

What's your payment structure?

Our payment policy is 50% which is non refundable of the quote to be paid when booking upfront this will secure your date. The other 50% of balance is due one week prior to the wedding. Should you happen to cancel less than 6 months in advance of your wedding and We are unable to fill the date with another booking, all you are out is your deposit. You would loose your deposit and the 50% due balance will be voided, Should I happen to fill the date after a cancellation more than 6 months before your date with another booking, you will be entitled to 25% of your deposit back.

If the payment structure is the only barrier between you and incredible photos, drop us a message and we may be able to work out a payment structure that works for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations are a tough situation that nobody wants to encounter, but we need to have a plan just in case. Because of the nature of weddings happening primarily on weekends during the warmer part of the year, those dates are valuable and limited, and most wedding bookings happen well in advance and dates cannot typically be filled with a late cancellation.
Sometimes we will receive as many as 5 inquiries for a single date, and there’s no way to know from year to year which dates may be twice as popular as the weekend before or after. Once you’ve booked your wedding with us, we turn away all other inquiries for your date and as such we need to be protected in the event of a cancellation for the lost work and revenue.
To accommodate all of this as best as possible, while aiming to be fair to both our couples and ourselves, our cancellation policy is as follows: In the event of a cancellation, if we am unable to fill the date with another booking, no monies already paid will be refunded.
This ties into our payment policy of 50% of your quote to be paid when booking upfront this will secure your date. The other 50% of the balance due one week prior to the wedding. Should you happen to cancel more than 6 months in advance of your wedding and we are unable to fill the date with another booking, all you are out is your deposit, as with this much notice there is a reasonable chance we may be able to book another wedding on the date. If you cancel less than 6 months before the wedding and I’m unable to fill the date with another booking, you would loose your deposit and the 50% due balance will be voided, Should I happen to fill the date after a cancellation with another booking, you will be entitled to 25% of your deposit back.

How far in the future are you willing you book?

2 years is my maximum lead time for full wedding bookings.

Do you deliver black and white photos?

Yes we do!, you will receive ALL of your images in black and white as well as colour.
